Southwood Bible Church |
And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42-47
At Southwood Bible Church, we believe the responsibility of the individual believer in Christ is to learn, think, and apply the Word of God by faith and in the spirit of freedom from bondage that Jesus Christ has secured for us. Our vision for our church, for the Lord's church, is that we continue to become a church as modeled in Acts 2:42-47; where Scripture tells us to be a church of teaching, true fellowship, worship, outreach ... and where prayers, offered in faith, are answered by the greatness of God our Father. We welcome you to visit, to fellowship with us, and to learn more about our friend, Jesus Christ.

History of SBC
Southwood Bible Church (previously Patrian Bible Church) was established in Tulsa in 1970 as an independent Bible church where people are encouraged to believe in Christ as their Savior and to learn and grow in the knowledge of Christ through the study of the Bible. In addition to excellent fellowship, the main thrust of the ministry of Southwood is its Bible classes for all ages, children through adults. Our outreach is both local and international. Every week, the people of Southwood can be found teaching at youth centers, boys' homes, retirement centers, and backyard Bible clubs. Missionaries from our church have served in Mexico and the former Soviet Union. Members of our church have also gone on mission trips to Mexico, Russia, Africa and India. Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage on another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25 Our prayer is that the Lord will lead you to a church home that where you can grow and serve the Lord. Please visit our Statement of Faith for a brief description of our beliefs. You may also wish to learn about the ministers at Southwood, and upcoming events.
We hope you will join us! |
